Technology
Parkinson’s is not one symptom. It is a pattern that shows up in how you move, how you speak, and how your face carries feeling. Velsyna reads that pattern where it lives: in the brain’s motor circuits.
The journey below takes about a minute.
Parkinson's begins deep inside it, in circuits that coordinate movement, speech, and expression. Keep scrolling to travel through them.
Substantia nigra · basal ganglia
Deep in the brain, in a region called the substantia nigra, the cells that make dopamine slowly fade. The basal-ganglia circuits they feed lose their rhythm, and the motor cortex fires the muscles slowly. Steps shorten, taps slow, handwriting shrinks. Velsyna measures that rhythm with a tapping test and a short walk.
Finger tapping · gait
Laryngeal motor cortex
The same quieted circuits move the muscles of the voice box. Speech becomes softer and flatter, often before anyone names the change. A short reading lets Velsyna hear it.
Voice · volume and pace
Facial motor pathways
The automatic, emotional engine of facial movement quiets, so the face expresses less. Clinicians call it the masked face. A brief video measures it, gently.
Expression · facial motion
Together they describe how Parkinson's is moving. Velsyna turns them into standardized scores your clinician can trust.

From signal to score
01
A short guided session records the raw signal: taps, steps, speech, or a brief video.
02
The signal becomes precise measurements: speed, rhythm, pauses, and how they decay.
4.2 taps/s · 12% decay· 180 ms variance
03
Each measurement lands on the 0 to 4 scale used by the MDS-UPDRS, so the result already speaks your clinician’s language.
04
Scores build into a timeline. Change becomes visible in weeks, not visits.
Every signal Velsyna measures is drawn from decades of published clinical research. The measurement approach follows the evidence, and the evidence is public.
